Kaufman Texas

1893 KAUFMAN Black L5 Meteorite from Texas 2.2g

2.2 gram part slice of Kaufman, a very fresh  L5, Black Chondrite meteorite with armored chondrules found 4 or 5 miles from Kaufman, Kaufman County, Texas, USA in 1893.  A Total Known Weight (TKW) of 23 kilograms was found as a single mass at coordinates 32°35' N., 96°25' W.  Weathering and shock level data were not included in the official classification.  This specimen comes with an identification card from The Hupé Collection.
